Q: How do I register for the next chapter meeting?

Q: Can I attend a chapter meeting without being a PMI member?
A: Yes, there is a non-member registration (and your initial meeting is free!).

Q: How often does the Chapter meet?
A: The Chapter holds eleven chapter meetings during the year from January through November. Chapter meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month.
Q: How much are Chapter meetings?
A: For chapter members, discounted early registration pricing is $15.00. Member registration on the day of the event is $20. For Non-Members, discounted early registration pricing is $20.00. Non-Member registration on the day of the event is $25. Students pay only $5.

MEMBERSHIP
Q: How do I join the PMI Metrolina Chapter?
A: You must first join the global Project Management Institute. Access the Membership area on the global PMI® website at www.pmi.org. While you are completing your registration, you will be asked to select a component. Select Metrolina as your component.
Q: How do I join the Metrolina Chapter if I am already a PMI member?
A: You can login to the Members Area of the global PMI website and, under the "Components" section, choose to "Add A Chapter".
Q: How much does it cost to become a Metrolina Chapter member?
A: The membership is $25 per year.
CHAPTER WEBSITE
Q: This is my first visit to the Chapter's new website, how do I logon?
A: For first time login as a member, you will be emailed your login ID (the email address on record at PMI Global) and password once your name is added to the website registration. Once you login to the site, it is recommended that you change your password.
Note: If you just joined the chapter, it takes 1-3 weeks for your logon to be set up for the chapter website so you may not be able to logon right away. This is because the PMI.ORG database gets delivered to us at the end of every month.
Q: I forgot my password. How do I obtain it or reset it?
A: There is a link on the home page of the website (www.pmi-metrolina.com) that will assist you in resetting your password.
Q: How can I update my PMI membership information updated?
A: To update your personal information please log on to the www.PMI.org website. Once logged on, you can access your profile. Make the necessary changes to your profile (i.e. e-mail, phone number etc) by selecting ‘Go To My Profile’.
Note: It will take 1-3 weeks for your new information to reflect in the Metrolina Chapter database and in communications.
CERTIFICATION
Q: I want to learn more about the different certifications offered by PMI®. Where can I get more information?
A: The credentials to earn the Project Management Certification (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMPSM) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) are posted on the national PMI® website under Career Development > Our Credentials. Under each certification you can learn more about the qualifications and testing requirements.
Q: How do I register for the PMP Certification exam?
A: You can register online for all PMI certifications by visiting the global PMI® website at www.pmi.org. Please note that you must meet the requirements in order to take the exam.
VOLUNTEERING
Q: I would like to volunteer, who do I contact?
A: Thank you for your interest, please contact our Volunteers Chairperson at volunteer@pmi-metrolina.com.
Q: How do I become a Committee Chair?
A: Chairperson positions are appointed by the Officers. Please contact our Volunteers Chairperson at volunteer@pmi-metrolina.com with the Chairperson position to express your interest.
Q: How do I become a member of the Board of Directors?
A: Officer positions are elected by the membership. The Nominating Committee prepares a slate for election each year in the month of September. Please contact the Past President at PastPresident@pmi-metrolina.com if you are interested in becoming an Officer.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNITS (PDUs)
Q: I am being audited PMI and I cannot find my chapter meeting receipts and certificates of participation in courses I’ve attended that were sponsored by the Metrolina Chapter?
A: The Metrolina chapter currently does not maintain a database of chapter meeting attendance beyond the online registration tool. Participation in PMP Preparation Courses is maintained for up to two years. You are responsible for keeping track of your course and meeting participation.
Q: How to I report my PDUs?
A: PDUs can only be reported on the global PMI website at www.pmi.org. You will need your PMI ID # and PMI Certification # to log in. You can follow this link to report PDUs online to Global: Online PDUs .
