From the President...
Letter from the President
Let me be to first to welcome each member and all that we have quietly been cooking up over the month and a half break for our chapter. I’m excited by the accomplishments of last year and the new bar that we have set for the chapter members. Just a quick recap of some of last year’s accomplishments that really stand out in my mind were:
- New policies and procedures
- The change in the board structure (from a large tactical board to a small strategic voting board and a tactical chairperson’s extended board)
- Added an accountant to assist the VP of Finance with record keeping / reporting.
The individual divisions played a key role in several of the changes and growth, including:
- “Sold Out” PDD event
- New newsletter format and distribution
- New SharePoint document repository
- Speaker dashboard
- New members welcome table
- Increased number volunteers
- And finishing the year with a new web site
Now that was a great year, the new board of directors started working on keeping the momentum going this year and here are a few goals we are targeting:
- Mentorship program
- Community Events
- Networking Socials
- SkillFest Event
- Golfing Event
- Web-based training for PMP Prep
- Additional PDU opportunities
- New chapter meeting presenters (local and national)
- PMI Global recognition for the chapter
I look forward to working closely with each member and increasing the benefits the chapter can provide you. We are always looking for new ideas to enhance the chapter membership so please send them to us through the new website’s “feedback” portal and there are several volunteer opportunities that will allow you to learn from your project management peers and share your experience.
Again, welcome and please get involved!
Randy Waymer
